3 Chinese carmakers move closer to selling in Europe
Chinese automakers Geely Automobile, Changfeng Motor and BYD Auto say they plan to sell cars in Europe by 2011.
Geely hopes to start selling its CK lower-medium sedan in Europe " within three years," Geely International regional manager Ronnie Wong said at the auto show here. BYD Auto aims to launch its F1 small hatchback within three years. BYD will show the car, which debuted at the Guangzhou auto show in November, at the Geneva show in March.Changfeng will begin exporting cars from China in two to three years " probably going first to Europe and then to the US," Ming Zeng, director of Chanfeng''s international trade department, said. Changfeng is asking Mitsubishi''s distributors in Europe to help it obtain European approval for the Liebao CS7 and CS6 SUVs and Kylin medium minivan.
