China Dongfeng to invest $1.3 billion in own-brand cars
The state parent of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., China''s third-biggest automaker, will invest 10 billion yuan ($1.33 billion) through 2010 to develop its own brand of cars, the official Shanghai Securities News reported today.
Dongfeng Motor Corp., which makes cars in tie-ups with Nissan Motor, Honda Motor and PSA Peugeot Citroen, is building facilities to make cars carrying its own badge, with designed annual capacity of 330,000 units, the paper said, citing the company''s vice president, Fan Zhong.
