BMW sees 2007 productivity rising over 10%
BMW, the world's largest premium carmaker, expects productivity to improve by more than 10 percent in 2007 after only 5 percent last year, a senior executive told German business daily Handelsblatt.
"I am convinced that we will achieve more than 10 percent," BMW production boss Frank-Peter Arndt said in an interview to be published on Thursday. In March, Arndt told Reuters he was aiming for a 10 percent productivity gain on average throughout all plants. By comparison, Volkswagen expects productivity at its massive Wolfsburg plant to rise by 12.5 percent this year.
