Kia to launch XR performance range
Kia will release a new performance range over the next three years under a new ‘XR’ brand, with the first car likely to be an XR-badged Cee’d hatch. The cars will essentially be regular production models dressed up with bodykits and race-style wheels, but there could even been more powerful forced-induction versions in the future.
An XR-badged Kia Cee’d was previewed last week at a press event in Korea, which featured a sporty bodykit and the standard motor. However, a source revealed to Autocar reporters that there would be turbo engines for European markets and supercharged cars in the US to suit different customer demands.
