奇瑞近日携手美国资产管理公司Quantum在芜湖建立新的汽车生产线，预计将从09年开始投入量产。总额7.34亿美元的投资将使奇瑞在更短的时间内生产新车型。奇瑞计划每年生产10.5万辆豪华轿车和4.5万辆SUV，这些车将主要出口欧洲和北美市场。新工厂投产后，奇瑞的年产量将提高到50万辆。
A Quantum Leap From Chery
Chinese carmaker Chery, which is on an ambitious growth path both at home and abroad, has teamed up with U.S. finance company Quantum to set up a new production facility here in the carmaker's home city. Production will start in about 2009.
The $734-million investment will let Chery put new models into production sooner than had been expected. Chery plans to produce 105,000 luxury sedans and 45,000 SUVs per year, mostly intended for European and North American export markets. With the new plant, Chery's total capacity will reach 500,000 units a year.
