Mazda to use half of new Nanjing plant capacity
Mazda Motor Corp. plans to use about half the capacity at a new 160,000 units-a-year factory in Nanjing, China, held with Ford Motor Co. and Changan Auto, an executive at the Japanese carmaker said today.
Mazda, held one-third by Ford, had said on Thursday, April 19, it would make the new Mazda2 subcompact at the Nanjing plant, in which it has a 15 percent stake, but the partners have not officially disclosed how much capacity would be used by Ford and Mazda.
