China's parts exports to U.S. rise 28%
Mexico continues its reign as the United States' chief supplier of auto parts, but China is looming in its rearview mirror. According to newly released data from the U.S. Commerce Department, imports of China-made components totaled $6.9 billion last year, up 28.1 percent. Those imports include aftermarket sales as well as original equipment shipped to assembly plants.
