Peugeot: Sporty 107, new engine for 207
Peugeot has announced two new models today: a sporty little 107 and a 207 supermini with a new 1.6-litre petrol engine.
The 107 Sport XS 1.0-litre (68bhp) three-door costs from ￡8,395; it's finished off with 14-inch alloy wheels, a rev counter, front spoilers, go-faster stripes, twin exhaust pipes, a leather steering wheel, red gearknob and red trim detailing.
The 207 is now offered with a 120bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine developed in collaboration with BMW but, for Peugeot, built in the PSA factory in Douvrin, France. It will replace the 110bhp 16v 1.6 previously on offer. Delivering 120lb ft of torque, the engine returns 46.3mpg and 145g/km of carbon dioxide, and accelerates the 207 0-60mph in 10.7 seconds. Top speed is 125mph.
